Moissanite is a rare naturally occurring mineral, even rarer than diamonds. The vast majority of moissanite is lab grown and has become a popular diamond alternative engagement and fine jewellery setting.

These lab grown gems are more durable than any other popular gemstone such as diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds.

Charles & Colvard Forever One Moissanite

Charles & Colvard Forever One stones are the worlds premium moissanite faceted to precise proportions and angles designed to exude brilliance & fire. Charles & Colvard moissanite is eye clean and is between internally flawless (IF) to very slightly included (VSI) gradings of clarity.

Charles & Colvard Forever One Hearts & Arrows Cut Moissanite

The Hearts & Arrows cut is the most intricate cut, featured on the worlds premium Charles & Colvard D-F graded, Forever One moissanite stone. A new innovation mastered by Charles & Colvard in 2017.

The H&A cut is a marker of a well cut diamond and the moissanite stone closely resembles a more diamond-like sparkle and appearance. If you want to opt for a diamond alternative and mimic a diamond as close possible, the Hearts & Arrows is a great choice

The perfect precision Hearts & Arrows cut, is available in the following stone shapes:

Round Cut - between 4.0mm/0.26ct & 12.0mm/6.32ct

Cushion Cut - between 5.0mm/0.60ct to 9.50mm/3.97ct.

Lily Arkwright’s own brand moissanite is eye clean and is between internally flawless (IF) to very slightly included (VSI) gradings of clarity. Available in D-F colourless grading and in a variety of shapes and carat weights.

Platinum 

Lily Arkwright’s platinum jewellery is crafted in exceptional quality platinum 950, composed of a blend of 95% pure platinum and 5% alloy metals, resulting in a hypoallergenic precious metal choice. Platinum is extremely rare, thirty times rarer than gold, and requires high expertise to work with, which in addition to its high purity contributes to its slightly higher price. Platinums strength and durability means minimal maintenance is required, offering longevity to the wearer to ensure your beloved jewellery lasts a lifetime. As a naturally white metal, its colour won’t change over time making it a truly timeless metal in every sense. Platinum is considered a highly luxurious metal option, which carries a beautiful weight, 60% heavier than gold, as a reminder to wearers of its outstanding qualities.

Gold 

The purity of gold is expressed in karats, which indicates the number of gold parts included within a piece of metal. Pure gold is expressed as 24 karat, however, gold is a very soft and delicate metal, therefore it is alloyed with other metals to make it suitable for everyday wear. The majority of Lily Arkwright rings are set in 18k gold, which equates to 75% purity. 14k (58% purity) & 9k (38% purity) gold are available on request. The purity of the precious metal determines its value, with those of a higher purity being of higher value, as the purer the metal the more precious it is considered to be. There is no price difference between types of gold, as long as it is hallmarked to the same karat weight. All our white gold is nickel free, suitable for those who suffer from a nickel allergy. 

White Gold 

White gold’s silvery-white appearance makes it a brilliant value alternative to platinum. In addition to being alloyed with other metals to create it’s white gold appearance and increase the metals longevity, white gold is plated with rhodium to ensure a bright white finish and additional strength & resilience to protect against everyday wear. Over time this plating erodes through everyday wear and tear to reveal yellow tones underneath, therefore, white gold needs replating every 2 to 4 years, which can be done so by your local jeweller. 

Yellow Gold 

Naturally yellow in colour, gold displays a timeless warm golden glow found in classical fine jewellery. Unlike white gold, yellow gold isn’t plated and is easily cared for with regular clean and polishes. 

Rose Gold

Rose gold’s subtle pink hue is created by alloying gold with copper. As copper is one of the most durable metals it brings strength and durability to the gold metal, eliminating its need for plating and consequent maintenance. Rose gold is a truly romantic choice, perfectly on trend at present, yet gets more beautiful with age.

Each piece of Lily Arkwright jewellery has been tested and hallmarked to verify the purity of its precious metal content, in accordance with the 1973 Hallmarking Act. We are registered with the Sheffield Assay Office, a centre of expert opinion with more than 245 years of experience, providing our customers with the reassurance that each and every Lily Arkwright design has been carefully tested to ensure the highest quality available and compliant with UK regulations, as supported by our status as an Assay Assured Jewellery Retailer.

Lily Arkwright are proud to exclusively offer Chatham lab grown coloured gemstones rings. Chatham are the world’s leader in high-quality laboratory-grown precious gems, with strict standards for proportions and faceting to ensure excellent graded excellent cuts which maximise brilliance, clarity & colour. Coloured gemstones are graded slightly differently to white stones, with grading based on the strength/shade of its colour. All gemstone are sized by both ct and mm. By producing precious coloured gems under laboratory conditions a variety of shapes, unavailable to mined gemstones, can be produced.
