Comet places an emerald-cut lab-grown alexandrite beside a pear-cut lab-grown diamond in 18k rose gold. Both stones share the centre of this Toi et Moi ring, each keeping its own outline from above.

Alexandrite provides this ring's coloured gemstone identity. It is emerald cut and paired with a pear-cut lab-grown diamond. Their outlines differ, allowing the two lab-grown stones to sit side by side without reading as matched duplicates.

Unlike a trilogy, this setting has two principal stones. The pear and emerald cuts sit alongside one another, making their different proportions the point of the ring.

The diamond is listed as IGI certified, D colour and VS1 clarity. Those grades identify the pear stone, while the emerald-cut gemstone is separately named by its material and cut.

Rose gold gives the paired setting a warm metal line. At 1.65mm wide, the band stays slim below the two stones, leaving the difference between their cuts easy to see.

Three pairs are listed. The pear diamond runs from 0.70ct to 1.10ct, while the alexandrite runs from 1.29ct to 3.26ct. These are individual stone weights, not a single combined centre figure.

Certified Diamonds & Lab Grown Gemstones

Lab-grown diamonds and lab grown alexandrites offer exceptional beauty with a lower environmental impact compared to mined stones. Each gemstone is created with precision for outstanding clarity, colour, and brilliance.

Lab grown diamonds are aesthetically and chemically identical to natural mined diamonds. We hand select every diamond to ensure the best in class cut, clarity, colour and luster and never compromise on quality.

Each lab grown diamond is independently assessed, certified and accompanied with an IGI certificate.

Other grades of lab grown diamonds available on request.

ABOUT YOUR CENTRE GEMSTONE

Lab-Grown Alexandrite Engagement Rings: Colour and Design

Lab-grown alexandrite brings a distinctive colour-changing character to an engagement ring. This variety of chrysoberyl can appear bluish-green in some lighting and shift towards purple or reddish tones in others. The strength of the effect varies from stone to stone, so photographs taken in a single light may not show its full appearance.

What Is a Lab-Grown Alexandrite Gemstone?

Laboratory-grown alexandrite has the same essential mineral composition as natural alexandrite but is created in controlled conditions. It is not a diamond or a sapphire. Its changing colour is central to its appeal, particularly when paired with bright accent diamonds that provide a consistent contrast as the centre gemstone changes in different light.

Choosing an Alexandrite Engagement Ring Setting

An oval alexandrite gives a graceful, elongated outline; a round or cushion shape creates a different balance on the hand. A solitaire keeps the focus on the gemstone, while a diamond halo frames its changing colour. Compare the centre stone’s millimetre measurements, the metal tone and the side profile of the setting when choosing a ring for everyday wear.
