Once extracted, they’re sent for cutting, polishing and certification, often by renowned laboratories such as the GIA or IGI LINK. A common misconception is that all diamonds are mined, or that all GIA diamonds are natural. In actuality, both lab-grown and mined diamonds come both certified or uncertified, with both types of diamonds the trust, traceability, and clarity provided by a trusted certification board is always preferred.
