Our custom engagement ring design process runs across three stages, each signed off with you before we move on. The brief we agree with each client at the start is what guides every stage that follows.

1. Concept

The Lily Arkwright Bespoke Design team will work with your ideas, sketches and images to create a bespoke ring design brief. Bring whatever you have, whether that is a clear reference or a rough idea, and we will help shape it into something workable.

2. Prototype

Our team brings your design to life and produces computerised ring designs and image renders for your approval. You get to see how the ring will look before production starts.

3. Complete

Once the design is approved, your bespoke ring is crafted by our expert Goldsmiths using the finest materials. This is the point at which the design on screen becomes the ring in your hand.

Create Your Own Engagement Ring From Scratch

If you would rather design your own engagement ring before booking a consultation, we welcome clients who arrive with their own ideas already sketched out. You can make your own engagement ring concept on paper, build your own engagement ring reference with inspiration images, or bring in a ring that is almost right and let us evolve the design from there.

Every Lily Arkwright engagement ring is made by our expert Goldsmiths, with the design shaped by our engagement ring designer during the brief stage. The bespoke jeweller on your project works from the written brief agreed at the concept stage and carries it through to the finished piece.

Our Jet certified jewellery team is on hand through every stage of the process, from the first sketch through to the moment you collect or receive the ring. A handmade engagement ring from a bespoke brief meets the same standard of craftsmanship as a solitaire from our standard range.

Visit Our London and Manchester Showrooms

Most of our bespoke engagement ring clients choose to visit one of our two UK showrooms at some point during the design process. You do not have to. Every stage can be run remotely over video. Seeing stones in person and trying on comparable settings before signing off on a design is helpful for many clients, which is why the showroom option is there.

Our London showroom is in Marylebone. Our Manchester showroom serves the north and clients from across the UK. Appointments at either location are private, which means you and the design team have the space to yourselves for the full consultation.
