Choosing wedding rings and bands

Start with width and profile

A flat outline, curved D shape and court-style band sit differently on the finger. Compare the inside profile as well as the visible surface, and try the width you intend to order where possible. Two bands in the same finger size may feel different because of their width and construction.

Consider the pair as a whole

Place the wedding ring beside your engagement-ring setting to assess clearance, rubbing and the gap between them. A shaped band may follow the head more closely than a straight band. Compare metals and finishes in the combination you will actually wear, rather than judging each ring separately.

Confirm stone setting and resizing

Plain, half-set and full-eternity designs have different sizing constraints. Check whether the selected band can be resized, particularly when stones continue around it. Use the product’s metal, width and stone specification when comparing prices and ask about any engraving before the size is finalised.

Designs to compare

A question worth asking

Can every wedding ring be resized?

No. The profile, metal, stone placement and design can limit resizing. Confirm the options for the particular band before ordering.
