Featured in jewellery since the dawn of civilisation, and worn by pharaohs, emperors, and royalty the world over; gold has forever been a marker of wealth and status. As this particular precious metal can be found on every continent, it features in the majority of cultures as a prized possession. In fact, gold is what gave rise to the concept of money itself, when gold ingots/ coins were first used as an exchange rather than a direct swapping of goods, even the stock market today relies on gold as a stable measure of wealth.

Many of the collections of jewellery we have at Lily Arkwright are available in this gorgeous precious metal, including the vast majority of our moissanite engagement rings, pendants and moissanite earrings. We offer gold not only in a variety of shades but also in different karats, from 18k to 9k. The reason that 24k is not used in any of our jewellery is that pure gold is not particularly well suited for durability. By alloying our gold with other metals your ring, necklace, or pendant is much better suited to general wear. For example 18k is made up of around 75% pure gold, and designed to last a lifetime.
All of our jewellery comes with a 12 month warranty, and a 30 day returns policy*. In addition to this we also have free and insured global shipping as well as being globally partnered with PayPal and Klarna, which starts at 0% interest.
British Hallmarking
Hallmarking is a centuries old practice in the UK and is the process of engraving a piece of metal with a symbol that represents a specific piece of information. All jewellery that is sold and claims to be made up from a precious metal must be hallmarked, and is done so through a separate third party Assay Office. As Assay Assured retailers, all our customers can rest assured that our jewellery has been audited and tested to provide outstanding quality jewellery that is true to description.

Specifically for online jewellery retailers, the Assay Assured trust mark is the only trust mark that enables consumers to reduce their risks of encountering counterfeit and fake jewellery when buying online and allowing high quality online jewellers, such as ourselves, to promote our good practice.
White and Rose Gold

As well as our 18k yellow gold options, we also offer 18k and 9k white and rose gold. White gold is one of the most classic choices whilst rose gold is great for those wanting something just a little bit different, but both make for beautiful pieces of jewellery. The colour of each is due to the quantities of other metals they have been alloyed with, for instance rose gold gets its pink hues from the small amount of copper added to its makeup. We are renowned purveyors of amazing British Craftsmanship and members of the National Association of Jewellers. The NAJ is a cross-country selection of the highest quality brands in the jewellery industry, all of which comply with their stringent standards and are independently verified.

Why a Two Tone Yellow Gold Ring?
Photo Reference: Jasmine Two Tone 18k Yellow and White Gold Ring
Two tone rings are when the mount and prong, which hold the centre stone, are a different metal to the band. Not only looking gorgeous, this technique also has a purpose. When placed next to a white gemstone such as a moissanite or lab grown diamond, yellow gold can sometimes bring out the yellow tones present in a gem, but by having a platinum or white gold mount, the moissanite or diamond appears bright white.
Having said this, our collection of moissanite gemstones from Charles & Colvard Forever One only come in D-F and I-G and Lily Arkwright Moissanite in D-F, meaning that all our moissanite is in the exceptional colour range. Whether you choose two-tone, or to have a completely yellow gold ring, the result is truly stunning.

Celebrity Yellow Gold Engagement Rings
Yellow gold has made a comeback in a big way since the 2000’s and is now the metal of choice for a huge number of couples. As the band of choice for an increasing number of celebrities as well, gold was the preference for Emma Stone, Lily Collins, as well as royalty Meghan Markle.
For example, Emily Ratajkowski’s ring has a unique dual stone centrepiece, featuring a pear cut diamond in addition to the princess cut diamond it sits next to, all sat on top of a beautiful yellow gold band.

Emma Stone’s ring also has a lovely yellow gold ring which features a pearl as its centre stone.

Both Meghan Markle and Lily Collins have trilogy rings, with the latter having two side stones of baguette cut diamonds, very much like the Lovetta ring in our collection mentioned earlier.

Yellow Gold as a Vintage Ring Classic
Gold is known to be a more vintage inspired metal choice, as after a wane in popularity in the 1990’s and 2000’s, this gorgeous metal is finally back in. Pairing perfectly with coloured gemstones such as sapphire, emerald and ruby, any ring that includes gold is instantly reminiscent of the elegant style of the last century.
