Halo Engagement Rings

Halo engagement rings frame a centre stone with a visible border of smaller stones. The outline of the halo, the spacing between it and the centre, and the width of the band all influence the finished look. Some designs follow the centre shape closely; others create a more decorative silhouette.

Comparing halo proportions

Look at the ring's overall face-up dimensions as well as the centre-stone size. A fine border gives a different effect from a broader halo. Consider whether you prefer a plain band or additional shoulder detailing, and use the side-view images to compare how high the centre and halo sit above the finger.

Choosing the centre stone

A halo can frame a colourless or coloured centre. Our classic lab grown diamond collection focuses on the traditional colourless appearance. Natural diamonds, moissanite and other gemstones are separate options; the specification identifies the materials used in each ring.

Is a halo the same as a hidden halo?

No. A visible halo surrounds the centre when viewed from above. A hidden halo is positioned beneath it and is usually seen more clearly from the side.

Does the halo increase the centre stone's carat weight?

No. The centre stone and accent stones have separate weights. Where total carat weight is quoted, check whether it includes the halo and any stones along the band. This makes comparisons between designs more meaningful.
