Supporting Keswick’s Future: Lily Arkwright Donates £500 to Help Build a Sustainable Community
As part of our ongoing Social Champions Initiative, we’re proud to support local causes making a real difference in their communities. Each month, we choose to shine a light on an inspiring organisation or individual. This April, we’re thrilled to be backing Sustainable Keswick, a group of volunteers dedicated to securing a greener, stronger future for their town.
We’ve donated £500 to help fund the Keswick’s Future campaign, a grassroots initiative working to create a more sustainable, inclusive and community-led vision for the local area. From supporting eco-friendly transport solutions to improving energy efficiency and encouraging local food production, their mission reflects a commitment to people and planet that we deeply admire.
Why Sustainable Keswick?
Sustainable Keswick has been working for over 15 years to reduce the town’s carbon footprint and champion environmental awareness. Their current campaign – hosted on GoFundMe – is focused on engaging residents to develop a shared vision for the future of the town. The funds raised will support community meetings, local workshops, and practical projects designed to benefit everyone living and working in Keswick.

Upon receiving their donation, Angela (Chair of Sustainable Keswick) said:
"Many thanks for your donation. We were really surprised by such generosity. You have helped us reach our target within days of setting up this fundraiser! We would love to be able to thank you in person. We will be attending the May Day event in Keswick this Monday to help promote our community car club so if you see us there please do come and say hello. Many thanks"
