The yellow-gold Annora setting curves around one brilliant round aquamarine blue sapphire. Four prongs make a twisting head, giving this solitaire a shaped metal detail close to the stone. The coloured sapphire is lab grown; there are no additional gemstones along the band.

Yellow gold creates a warm line from the shank to the centre. Because the shoulders are unadorned, the round sapphire and the twist can each be seen clearly. The design uses metal form to bring interest to a ring that still has only one stone.

Rather than a single fixed band measurement, Annora has a stated width of 2.00mm to 2.60mm depending on centre size. This relationship matters when choosing the gemstone: the metal proportions can shift with the size selected.

The five listed round centres run from 6.0mm to 8.0mm, each carrying its own carat weight. These are individual centre weights, with no halo or side-stone total to combine. The sapphire's scale changes while the four-prong twist remains the constant setting feature.

The result places a named blue sapphire within a distinctive yellow-gold silhouette. Annora is suited to a preference for a coloured solitaire with visible design in the head, while keeping the band plain.

    ABOUT YOUR CENTRE DIAMOND

    Lab-grown aquamarine sapphire gemstones

An aquamarine blue lab-grown sapphire offers a lighter expression of blue. Its softer colour can give an engagement ring a different character from a deeper traditional blue sapphire while retaining sapphire as the centre gemstone.

For someone drawn to pale, fresh blue tones, the colour can provide a gentle focal point or become more defined when surrounded by contrasting stones.

    Aquamarine blue describes the colour

In this collection, aquamarine blue describes the colour of the lab-grown sapphire. It does not mean the gemstone itself is aquamarine.

Aquamarine belongs to the beryl family, while sapphire is corundum. They are different gemstone materials even where their colours may appear similar.

This distinction matters when comparing jewellery. An aquamarine blue sapphire ring should be understood and cared for as sapphire.

    Choosing a lighter blue

A lighter blue can create a different impression from a more saturated sapphire centre.

Consider whether you want the colour to sit quietly within the design or remain unmistakably blue from a distance.

Compare the gemstone with the surrounding metal and any white accent stones. These elements can influence how delicate or pronounced the blue appears.

Choosing a setting around pale blue

Platinum or white gold creates a cool-toned palette around an aquamarine blue sapphire.

Yellow gold introduces warmer contrast, while rose gold combines the blue centre with softer pink tones.

A solitaire keeps the design simple. A halo provides a defined border, while a trilogy allows the relationship between the centre and side stones to play a larger role.

    Shape and scale

A round centre provides symmetry, while an oval or pear creates a more elongated silhouette.

More angular outlines offer another way to frame a lighter colour.

Compare the gemstone’s dimensions with the band and setting. A fine band can give a softly coloured stone greater visual presence without requiring a more elaborate design.

    Sapphire properties apply

Although the colour is described as aquamarine blue, the gemstone is sapphire and has sapphire’s material properties.

It is well suited to regularly worn jewellery but should still be protected from hard impacts and cared for as part of the complete ring.

A Lily Arkwright aquamarine blue sapphire ring brings together a softer blue colour with the durability and character of sapphire.
