Choosing an elongated cushion engagement ring
Elongated cushion engagement rings combine rounded corners with a longer, rectangular silhouette. The shape offers a different outline from a squarer cushion while keeping its softened edges. The degree of elongation varies, so use the centre stone's length and width to compare designs.
Balancing the centre and setting
A slim solitaire band can leave the longer outline prominent, while a halo or side stones add width around it. Consider the corner shape, claw positions and setting height as well as the band. Side views are useful when assessing how the basket sits above the finger.
Colourless and coloured diamond choices

How is it different from an oval?
An oval has a continuously curved outline, while an elongated cushion retains a rectangular form with rounded corners. Similar length and width do not make them interchangeable, and the setting can emphasise those differences.
