The details that define a pear moissanite ring

A pear shaped moissanite combines a rounded base with a single tapered point. This directional silhouette can feel slender or fuller depending on its proportions. The setting should complement that outline without making the point feel visually disconnected from the curved end.

Compare the shoulders and taper

Look at both sides of the gemstone, the curve near the broad end and the transition towards the point. Length-to-width ratio helps describe the overall shape, but it does not capture every difference in the outline. View the actual measurements alongside photographs or video rather than choosing on a size label alone.

Consider protection at the point

The pointed end deserves particular attention when comparing settings. Review the claw or other protective detail around it and consider how the ring will be worn. Remove fine jewellery for activities that risk a hard knock, and have the setting checked if it becomes loose or starts catching.

Frame the shape or leave it open

Our moissanite solitaire collection provides a starting point for an uncluttered setting. The wider halo collection shows how an additional border changes a ring's footprint. Any accent diamonds should be considered separately from the moissanite centre when reading the specification.

Which way should a pear point face?

There is no compulsory direction: choose the orientation you prefer on your hand. Also compare an oval moissanite ring for an elongated shape without a point, or a marquise moissanite ring for two tapered ends. Our consultations can help you assess the complete setting and its space for a wedding band.
